Doel Reed, "Picuris Pueblo Winter"

This work is entirely done from life. A drawing was made on the scene, and worked up with successive layers of aquatint. Reed spent his summers in Taos, NM where this was done, and during the year he taught at Oklahoma A&M College. The print was made using a steel-faced copper plate.

The artist studied at the Grand Central Art School in New York City. The artists work is in the collection of the Newark Museum, and the Boston Museum.
