Christopher Murphy, Jr. was born in Savannah, Georgia and received his art education at the Art Students' League of New York, the Beaux Arts Institute and under various artists at the Telfair Academy of Savannah. He was a member of the Tiffany Guild, Vice President of the Savannah Art Club and past President of the Georgia Association of Artists.
